Databarracks goes from strength to strength in 2014

Databarracks has had a successful 12 months. The cloud service provider has won multiple awards, seen substantial company growth, and is extensively expanding its disruptive Partner (de)Programme. And all this whilst incubating some exciting and innovative new technologies in its south-west London offices.

Since the start of 2014, Databarracks has grown both its sales and technical teams by over 60 per cent to keep up with demand, as Peter Groucutt, managing director, comments:

"We started out over ten years ago as one of the UK's first true managed online backup providers and the market has certainly matured a lot since then. We became experts in our field and built a loyal customer base which has continued to grow with us. Now we not only offer cloud backup, but also secure disaster recovery, infrastructure and email services.

"Throughout this period of growth and introduction of new services, our customers are still our priority. This year alone we've won and been shortlisted for multiple awards that prove we've maintained our high standard of service, including Best Cloud Business Continuity Service, Cloud Company of the Year and Best Business for Customer Service."

The Clapham-based company hasn't just won customer awards either. Databarracks won two partner awards at this year's Asigra Summit, and are finalists for two Channel awards at November's SVC awards.

Groucutt continues: "Our channel partners are as important as our direct customers. This year we launched our Partner (de)Programme because we were so tired of the restrictive partner programmes we were seeing. Our programme was deliberately disruptive – we don't have Gold, Silver or Bronze partners, and we don't discriminate depending on how much revenue a partner brings in. We aim to have real relationships and real partnerships and commit the time and resource to our partners to really help them succeed. Long-lasting and mutually beneficial working relationships are what really work. The channel will continue to be huge for us in 2015. In the last couple of months we have begun a big initiative to grow that partner base."

Perhaps most interesting though, is what is to come from Databarracks in 2015. The cloud provider has been using its decade of experience to incubate some exciting new technologies in email security and data analytics, as Groucutt goes on to explain:

"Mailsphere is a disruptively priced cloud-based anti-virus, anti-spam and email archiving service. Eliminating all of the unnecessary "bloatware" that pushes costs up means that Mailsphere's unlimited archiving service is around a third of the cost of the alternatives.

"Kazoup is another product we're very excited about. Our Head of R&D and Head of Business Development at Databarracks took their 10 years of experience in the cloud backup industry and used it to solve the biggest problem our customers have – how to reduce storage costs and extract value from unstructured file data.

"Everyone we speak to wants to clean up their file data, but it is a long, manual process unless you have tools to help. Kazoup intelligently scans a business's file data so you can see what you have and then put policies in place to manage it better. It uses the meta data of your files so you can setup policies to archive or delete older data and it uses the content of the data so you can search it quickly and categorise the data."
