We are pleased to announce that we are now an official VMware vCloud Powered provider of public cloud services.  One of the key reasons we chose to build our IaaS, and consequently DRaaS, platform on vCloud was to be able to offer simple and easy integration with on-premise VMware environments.

We want to make it easy for you to integrate these services into your business and get real value as quickly as possible.  If you are virtualised with VMware or if you run your own private cloud service on-premise using vCloud and you want to start using public cloud services - the most straight-forward way to do so is to find a vCloud Powered provider.  You can get a single view of all of your workloads both internally and with your service provider and you won't need to modify your applications in any way to be "cloud ready".

From our experience, most businesses will begin their move into cloud services by implementing a hybrid model initially, instead of moving their entire infrastructure. This is another reason we are keen champions of vCloud. The first and most simple cloud service businesses tend to adopt is Disaster Recovery.  Tools like Zerto and Veeam which are built for VMware offer an excellent way to replicate your workloads to a service provider.

The other key benefit of a hybrid cloud is the ability to "cloud burst" - adding some extra resource from a cloud service provider when you actually need it, instead of adding (expensive) additional resource on-premise that will sit unused for large periods of time.
