We’ve been shortlisted for a Charity Times Award
We're very proud to announce our recent shortlisting for 'Best Use of Technology' in the Charity Times Awards for our work with the Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP).
Established in 1989, LOCSP has invested over £30 million to engage disadvantaged young people across North East London with a variety of sports, leisure and education opportunities.
After a catastrophic data loss on their legacy on-site system, the charity enlisted the help of IT consultant Mohammed Ghanty, who recommended us. Together, we helped overhaul the existing physical environment and transition the organisation to a lower-cost, virtualised environment.
We reduced the amount of overall backed up data, and moved almost two thirds of the remaining data onto our more cost-efficient, archival storage tier as it wasn't accessed on a regular basis. Charities and NGOs work to notoriously tight budgets, and so for us to be able to reduce their IT costs so dramatically made a huge impact on their bottom line.
One reason we're especially proud of this nomination, is that our support team played a big part in it. It was their proactive hard work and ongoing dedication that made the project so successful. We are all incredibly proud to be recognised for our work with in the charity sector.
The winners of the 28 awards are judged by an expert panel, and will be announced on 22nd October at a gala dinner at the Lancaster London Hotel. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
