What makes Databarracks tick? Transparency & Security
We like to get to know our customers and their businesses inside out – it's what enables us to deliver the high-quality services we've become known for and it's why our customers stay with us for such a long time. So we thought it was only fair to take you behind the curtain and show you what makes us tick. In the first of our series of short blog posts, we explain exactly how we foster the culture of customer service that we have at Databarracks.
Customer Service
Really, it comes down to one word: transparency. We're completely open with our customers and involve them at every stage of the journey. Whether you're tech-savvy or not, we don't think jargon is helpful, and so we try to avoid it at all costs. The conversations we have are geared towards getting results and adding value wherever we can.
For each of our services, the processes, timelines and costs are clearly outlined and freely available to our customers – there's nothing hidden so there are no nasty surprises. Our motto has always been to treat our customers as we would like to be treated and we work hard to keep that up.
We run regular workshops with our technicians that focus on exactly that. The workshops cover all aspects of customer service and equip our employees with strong communication skills and the tools they need to provide the best experience possible.
It's so important for us to create an innovative and exciting environment for our staff because this passion translates down to our customers. We constantly get great feedback from clients as a direct result of an interaction they've had with our technicians. It's that positive feedback that is proof of the hard work of our team, and a testament to their abilities.
Security
Security is another reason our customers like working with us. We're obsessed with it. Our data centres are ex-military bunkers (you can see them here) so there are few places in the UK that your data would be safer. The Bunker is completely surrounded by a 3.5m high, barbed wired fence and is patrolled 24 hours a day by onsite security staff and police-trained guard dogs. CCTV is in operation at all times and is actively monitored. Access is only granted through the strict request process, and on the receipt of valid photo identification on arrival.
Once inside the data centre, you are faced with 3m thick walls, bomb-proof steel doors, military EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) protection and Tempest RFI intrusion protection. No one is granted unescorted access – visitors are escorted by security staff at all times. You can see why customers trust us with their data...
